What does the UL symbol on products I purchase mean?
You ever wonder what the little UL symbol means on products you buy? This type of mark is seen commonly on appliances and computer equipment, furnaces and heaters, fuses, electrical panelboards, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, life jackets, and thousands of other products.
If a product carries this mark, it means that Underwriters Laboratories found that samples of the product met UL's safety requirements.
