Quick Answers
Who has to refer a child to the Thompson Center?
Anyone can refer a child to the Thompson Center, including parents and professionals.
What are the costs for an evaluation?
The cost varies depending on the type of evaluation and the child’s needs, so there is no standard cost. Parents are welcome to discuss this with the person who schedules the appointment with them. The typical method of funding diagnostic and evaluation services is through health insurance (including Medicaid). Interventions also may be funded through other agencies such as First Steps, Regional Centers, and/or Senate Bill 40 county boards.
