My garden was covered with flood water. Is it alright to can the produce?
It depends on the source of the flood water. If the
water contacted human waste, such as septic tanks or
sewage lagoons, or animal waste, such as pasture, the
garden will take about a month to become clean. Don't
eat or preserve the food for that period. If the source
was river water, it's alright to wash and can the food.
